Ezine Advertising: Good or Bad Days?
The global crisis influenced also the ezine advertising.
Anyone subscribed to more ezines can see that those days are bad days for ezines publishers.
Months ago there were long periods of time when some ezines flooded subscribers’ Inboxes with solo ads. Even 2-3 solo ads were published daily by the same ezine. It was not very good for subscribers and ezine advertisers, but great for publishers. Those days are gone.
Ezines that published 2-3 solo ads per day now publish only one solo ad. Some of these solo ad orders were placed one or even 2 months ago when the things were not quite bad. But soon those old orders will be fulfilled and you’ll see even less solo ads. That’s good for subscribers and bad for the publishers.
But how are these days for ezine advertisers? Well … it depends!
If you go with the crowd and you’re scared, you will limit yourself the advertising budget and of course these days will become bad days for you too.
A serious business cannot survive and grow without advertising. As Bruce Barton said, “Good times, bad times, there will always be advertising. In good times people want to advertise; in bad times they have to.”
If you make one step out of the crowd, then you understand that less solo ads means less competition for the advertiser who dares to continue the promotion of his/her products or services.
Subscribers are not flooded anymore with tons of offers. You no longer need to fight like you were supposed to do it before.
Conclusion?
The crisis is GOOD for the SMART advertiser!
What you need to take care is to promote a solid product or service. Because of the crisis there are less money on the market and less money in buyers’ pockets.
That’s why they will be more careful on what they buy.
If you don’t take care, the crisis will make YOUR days BAD too …
Take care!
