The Most Effective Form of Free Ezine Advertising

Some ezine publishers offer free ezine ads to their subscribers. The bigger the readership of such ezine, the more ads – which means the less chances for your own ad to be noticed in a sea of advertisements. The smaller the readership, the less potential prospects for you. Conclusion? This model cannot be the most effective form of free ezine advertising … We have to find out something else …

The problem with the model I just described is that everyone can follow that path. Why? Because it’s free and you don’t need special skills or knowledge. Consequence? A fierce competition – your ad is competing with many other ads.

Prerequisite Steps for a Successful Ezine Advertising Campaign

Simplistically speaking, it’s easy to establish what the target of an ezine advertising campaign is: success. It’s understandable, no one plans to fail. But are you ready to succeed?

The first step is to get rid of illusions like ezine advertising is a 1-2-3 simple path: copy an ad, buy ad space in an ezine recommended by a person you didn’t know a few hours or days ago and then sit & wait for profits to come.

No, ten thousands times, no! Successful advertising is not something that is done “in the meantime” and it involves work.

An Overlooked Way of Improving Your Ezine Ads

When it comes to ezine ads, it’s easy to notice that almost all advertisers focus their attention exclusively on the text of the advertisement. It’s not bad at all to focus on the wording. Great headlines and calls to action are essential for the success of your ezine advertising campaign. However, is that all?

One of the major inconveniences that an advertiser faces when it comes to top sponsor ads or ezine classified ads is the very limited length of the ad copy. There are only a few lines (or a maximum number of words plus a link – it depends on publisher’s guidelines) where the advertiser is supposed to include a lot of things such as the headline, the benefits, the call to action & the link to advertiser’s web page.

I have good news for you: there is an overlooked way of extending the number of words or keywords used in your ezine ad, without breaking the publisher’s guidelines…

Ezine Advertising – The Truth About Responsive Lists

I have always wondered what some ezine advertisers understand by “responsive list“. A newsletter where any ezine ad written by any newbie who promotes any “business opportunity” will end up returning the expected result? Hmmm …

Some articles writers even teach their readers to ask the publishers whether their ezines are responsive or not. Why on earth would you like to ask an ezine publisher such a non-sense question?

12 Guaranteed Guru Secrets, For Better Ezine Ad Results

From buying expensive solo ads to placing free classifieds in ezines the past three years, you can be assured of my qualifications to write this article. I’m a Guru aren’t I? :-)

1. I place most ezine ads in an ezine that is not delivered regularly on schedule. People love surprises and it’s a real surprise if this ezine arrives on schedule. (I bet on a high number of subs, here)

2. I just love to put ezine ads in an ezine classified section, where it is competing with dozens of other ads. If I do get a clickthrough this means my dollar sign characters stood out above the rest.

3. I don’t bother to spell check my ad copy. That misspelled word is sure to get noticed, and that’s what it is all about, right?

What is the Best Directory of Ezines?

Many ezine advertisers are looking for directories of ezines. Why? Because they think that they can find all the information they need in one single place and they won’t waste too much time finding an appropriate offer for their ezine advertising needs.

In theory, this is a good approach. Practice is different though …

I used to run a directory of ezines and I have been an ezine publisher since 2001. Based on this experience, let me share with you seven FACTS that led me to a conclusion some people won’t like …

The Easiest Way to Write Ezine Ads

There are many people advertising in ezines, but not everyone is a copywriter. The question is … can a good advertisement be written without too much knowledge & effort, and without spending money on copywriting services? The purpose of this article is to help you discover a simple and efficient method for writing ezine ads.

Many newbies join a program and then simply copy the ads from the affiliate/reseller area. That’s a pretty good way to solve the problem, but only if the program is new. Otherwise, if you use the same ad thousands of other members already used, you’re very close to a failure. Don’t assume that the readers are dumb and they will read again and again the same thing. You need to advertise in ezines where your competitors didn’t advertise yet (but actually you don’t know where they advertised) or you must write your own ads.

Other newbies write their own ezine ads indeed, but as expected, they are so unskilled that no one bothers to read their so called adverts such as “Hello, my name is John Doe and I’ve just discovered …”

What to do?

In What Ezines Should I Advertise?

I am asked quite frequently, “what ezines should I advertise in?” I’m far from an expert, but here are some tips that may give you some guidance in choosing which ezines you may want to place your ads.

First of all, place your ad in ezines that are related to your product, service or biz opp. If you are selling fishing lures, you probably wouldn’t do too well in a food magazine. You may get some responses or even an order, but if you want your money’s worth, don’t waste your time or money.

Find the ezines that you think are related to your product, service or biz opp. Granted, you will probably be coming up with the same ezines that your competition advertises in, but that’s the best place to advertise…right where your competition is!

Who is at fault?

The program, product or service you promote is not very attractive for other people? Does your ezine ad not grab readers attention? Is there something wrong with the landing page? Is the ezine’s readership not the right market for your product?

You’ll never know if you don’t use an ad tracker and then interpret the results.

It’s not difficult to use such a tracker, but how do you analyse the results? Let’s see some basics …
